Victoria Student Fund
Charitable Trust
Who We Are
The Victoria Student Fund Charitable Trust is a registered charity (CC59451) founded in late 2021.
The Trust was established by three students from Victoria University of Wellington, who identified a significant gap in financial education across New Zealand and set out to help address it.
Our vision is to build a financially literate New Zealand.
VSFCT has a strategic partnership with the VUW Finance and Investment Club and the PMG Charitable Trust. Our initiatives include:
Student-run investment fund.
Analyst apprenticeship programme.
Financial workshops in schools, community groups, and University.
Poor financial literacy is a primary contributor to persistent inter-generational poverty.
- Our mission is to create a financial literate generation that can deal with any economic challenge thrown at them.
Student Run Investment Fund
As of 2026, the Victoria Student Fund manages over $30,000 in assets, invested and overseen by our team of student analysts. This is done through our strategic partnership with the Victoria Finance and Investment Club.
Education sits at the heart of everything we do. Analysts are supported through regular training sessions, workshops, and ongoing mentorship, ensuring they develop the skills and confidence needed to make informed, responsible investment decisions.
The Fund follows a disciplined value investing philosophy. To ensure every investment meets this standard, proposals must pass:
A qualitative investment pitch
A comprehensive valuation analysis
A review and approval by the Investment Committee
